The Loran ‘C’ Navigation Service
From 2005 to 2007 a temporary Loran ‘C’ Navigation Service (100 kHz) had been set-up for the General Lighthouse Authorities. This service used a large three-wire T-shaped aerial, suspended across the top of the ‘C’ Building from Mast No.1 and Mast No.2. The down lead came straight down to an insulator positioned on the roof. This insulator had been in use for the GBR service until March 2003. The Loran ‘C’ Navigation Service was the final service to be radiated from Rugby.
