Why Was Rugby Radio Station Never Bombed?

Although its importance was clearly known, the Germans never actually bombed Rugby Radio Station. It could be that they used the station as a radio or physical navigational beacon, perhaps on flights towards Coventry or Birmingham.

The only damage achieved by German bombers was a broken window in Transmitter No.9’s HT Cubicle in the ‘A’ Building. This was caused by a stray bomb that had been dropped on the moors near the canal during one of the German bombing raids on Coventry.
