Famous Visitors

As you’d expect, Rugby Radio Station attracted a lot of attention in the press and drew quite a selection of famous visitors. These included:

  • 26th February 1926 – Lieutenant Louis Mountbatten
  • 10th August 1926 – Leading figures from the British Broadcasting Company
  • 6th November 1926 – Premiers from the Dominions: Mr Bruce, Prime Minister of Australia; Mr Mackenzie King, Prime Minister of Canada; and Mr Monroe, Prime Minister of Newfoundland
  • 29th August 1928 – His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Prince of Wales and his brother, the Duke of Gloucester
